RBTL Tours: Sage by S.A. Huchton

If you could be a superhero in your series what would your power be?

I know a lot of people that would totally jump at the chance to have a really kick-butt superpower the way that Candace can control water, or that Jackson manipulates fire, but, to me, I find more appeal in the quieter, less explosive abilities. I have a few like that in the Evolution series that would suit me better than the massively powerful ones my main characters possess. They aren’t the type of abilities where someone can kill you with a thought, but just as needed in building a solid, reliable team of superheroes.

I’ve always held intelligent people in very high regard, so if I could pick an ability, I’d chose boosted brain-power. Every team needs a leader, and the ability to out-think any opponent would make my superhero team the sure victors!

In lieu of becoming an unparalleled mastermind, I’d go for a healing ability. Keeping the team in prime condition would allow them to keep fighting the good fight, plus in my off-time I could travel around the world helping regular people beat the injuries and diseases that take their lives too soon. There would always be frustration in knowing that I couldn’t save everyone, but to do what I can to help as many as possible would ease that frustration at least a little.

With every superpower come drawbacks, so it’s hard for me to think of one without overanalyzing every scenario in which disaster could strike. While I love the idea of being a superhero, I’m not entirely sure I’d want to be one. Having written them now, and knowing what comes with great power, I’m fairly content to be a normal human.
